Life update & Point Du Jour introduction
Welcome to probably my largest blog post yet and possibly most boring lol - But I wanted to do this so you all had insight to exactly what I do, what I am aiming for and all that’s in between.
I also wanted to introduce our French house refurbishment which there is a lot to share about that!!! and also the plans for future travels and some overlanding in a Land Rover Discovery 4 that we aim to do in the next 6-9 months.
I also wanted to explain what my business does and how I help people across the UK and Europe (when they have property abroad)
So the fun stuff first!
Our Personal Projects: Exciting New Ventures
As much as I am passionate about professional services, we as a couple also have some personal projects underway that align with our values of quality, adventure, and exploration. Here’s a look at some exciting new ventures we’re diving into:
The Refurbishment of Point du Jour our second home in France set in the Mayenne forest region of Pays De Loir
Celeste and I want to bring this into my blog site to share the exciting journey of renovating our property in the stunning pays de Loir region of France. The house, Point du Jour, is located near the charming town of Chailland and is set to become a second home, with potential to be rented out in the future. This has been a long on going project bought and completed months before Brexit was announced - we have done a lot of ripping out and replacing roofs etc but work commitments always come first so we have been dipping in and out of this over the last few years, our focus is still very much to get this done and will share it with you along the way.
Mayenne is a picturesque department in north-western France, known for its tranquil countryside, lush forests, and quaint villages. The town of Chailland, in particular, is an idyllic setting with its beautiful old houses, cobbled streets, and an abundance of nature. It’s a place that promises peace and serenity, and we are thrilled to make it our home away from home.
We plan to share updates about the renovation of Point du Jour here on the blog so our followers can track the progress of this exciting project. From the early design phases to the final touches, you’ll be able to follow along with the transformation of this beautiful French house.

Overlanding Adventures: The Discovery 4
We’re also excited to share that we’re selling our house in Kent and embarking on a new adventure. Aside downsizing now our children have moved out and us wanting more money to be able to work and travel we have also decided part of this next chapter involves buying a Land Rover Discovery 4 and converting it into an overlanding vehicle for travel and exploration. This overland build will be a simple project in itself, as we transform the Discovery 4 into a basic off grid vehicle, it wont be anything special as we aim to spend the odd night in it cooking in it from time to time, so it will be a simple setup but will be set up so it can take us on epic journeys that we can document and share our trips whether in the UK for weekends or across Europe for 3 - 4 weeks. We never aim to spend more than a night or two in the Discovery, our aim is to travel, move and stay in places along with way with the availability to spend nights here and there in her when we decide too.
We’ll be documenting the entire process, from initial modifications to the final trip, and sharing it here on the blog. Our goal is to create a space that is comfortable, functional, and capable of handling the challenges of long and short-term travel and off-road adventures.
The overlanding build will be a perfect example of how you can have the most awesome adventures and we will be inviting you to follow along as we transform the Discovery 4 and share our travels with you.

So as you may know I am currently a freelance Project and Contracts manager and consultant to construction businesses, My career has developed on from that where around this I also provide training courses online or in person and assist construction companies with streamlined procedures, tracking and quality control.
